STC Awards and Scholarships are available to our members, members’ families and Saskatchewan based or formerly based individuals. Please review the specific Awards and Scholarships to learn about the requirements.

Nominations for the awards should include a brief biography about the nominee and must be received by May 28th this year, by mail to:

CITT SCHOLARSHIPS

A plaque and tuition scholarship for one course of study to be used within the next academic year for CITT students residing in Saskatchewan with the highest academic standing in either Transportation Systems or Logistics Processes. The CITT will assess the marks of individuals for the previous calendar year’s sessions to determine the recipient.

KIMPINSKI EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

A $1000 scholarship is presented to a direct descendant (including stepchildren) of a STC member in good standing. The recipient must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution of any field of study or in non-post-secondary logistics-related training. Applications for the scholarship must be presented to the STC Executive in writing with proof of enrollment by no later than April 1st each year. In the case of multiple applications, the STC Executive will vote on the recipient.

AWARD OF VALOUR

The Award of Valour is bestowed upon a Saskatchewan based individual or group who, within the previous twelve months, at great personal risk, prevented or attempted to prevent, the loss of life or property. It is not necessary that this action be transportation related.

The Award of Achievement is presented to an individual for their efforts in creating and developing a successful transportation related enterprise. Awards are bestowed to Saskatchewan based or formerly based individuals.

2025	STARS Air Ambulance – Nurse Jacob Kyrejto This year we honor STARS Ambulance and all their work to save lives and protect families by providing emergency response and transportation to rural highways and communities in Saskatchewan. This past year the founder of STARS, Dr Dwight Powell passed away at the age of 77, forty years after founding this non profit organization, Nurse Jacob received the award on behalf of the organization.

2025	Tara Struthers, Long Creek Railroad In 2012 Long Creek took over roughly 40 miles of track from CP between Estevan and Tribune was to be closed. The closure would impact the many farmers in the area who relied on the shortline to get their product to market. With Tara’s help, Long Creek not only kept the track open but was successful in diversifying into other segments including oil and gas, transloading, and storage. Last year Tara accepted the Northern Short Line Growth Award from CPKC she has made significant contributions to our industry.

2025	Jaime DeKelver, President, Standard Rail Jaime is well known in the transportation industry, having started in 1991 with NSC Minerals and now President of Standard Rail. Beyond her professional occupation, Jaime has put in countless hours volunteering in numerous positions including CITT Sask Area Council Secretary, Chair, Past Chair, CITT National Board of Directors, and various roles with the Saskatoon Transportation Club. She exhibits exceptional leadership in transportation.
